  • Direct TV Protection Plan - Asurion Insurance

    Read this complaint and it pretty much sums it up. I am still waiting for phone call and refund that was promised. Filed one claim and it was denied. I will continue to post, call, file complaints until I am refunded the premiums I paid.     I would not recommend this company to anyone and certainly would not recommend that you put on auto pay. When you put on auto pay they add the charges for new features and you don't know it until the money is out of your account and then you do not get it back even if you have not used the feature they added. They are very dishonest people so build a good incentive to get you in and then stick it to you any way they can and don't do anything to keep you as a customer. DO NOT switch to DIRECTV. More...

  • Horrible service!

    Been a directv customer since 1999. Over time the service continues to get worse. Bad equipment replaced with more bad equipment. Was told by a phone agent that they only support Samsung televisions and I would have to return my Vizio television and purchase a Samsung (really?).   • Directv does not value good customers and billing practices are inflexible

    If a payment is one day late they charge you late fees, but if you pay it one day early they don't give you a credit for that. As a customer I have a flawless payment history for over 8 years. Once I was late by 2 days and was socked with a late fee immediately. No grace period given because of my payment history. I used their "Can't make payment now" button and their disclaimers basically tell you that you will get a late fee, etc. etc. A worthless option !!!!   • Installation/Appointment "Service"

    I'm not sure if Direct just has the most incompetent people ever or the dumbest system ever placed. I call to schedule an upgrade to a new address since I was moving and wanted to upgrade. (I also was not under contract at the time). Was told my new address and appointment was put in for my move-in day so they would have it all done on the same day.     In March 2017 my DirectTV bill went way up. I went into my local AT&T office and they told me the best thing to do was change it to someone else's names.     I have the service and I have a 5th TV I wanted installed. The rep DANIELLE was a complete unprofessional rep. She rudely interrupted me without fully ALLOWING me to complete my question which caused her to repeat herself several times NOT answering my question AT ALL!     Direct TV and our local channel folks are arguing over price... so Direct TV blocks all the local channels... except the NBC station. I really don't care about the problems between Direct TV and local channel management. I pay for a service from Direct TV... their commitment is to provide me the entertainment I signed up for and pay for.     In our January bill we got a notice that prices are going up (again) on 1/22/17, "due to higher costs of programming." How can that be when they just dropped Esquire (on which we loved NCIS: Los Angelos reruns)? You'd think they'd lower the price when they take away a channel.     We've been Direct TV customers for years. Prior to about 2 years ago the company was top notch. You'd call the customer service and get a technician on the line to help you and help you they did. Now when we call we are so frustrated and upset with trying to get our issues resolved. In the past 2 years when I call I would get someone who couldn't speak english very well.     When I first contacted direct for service it took many calls and transferred around to several different people. 3 of the call were over an hour. I was even disconnected several times and then had to explain everything all over. In one day it took 9 phone calls.     Directv promised us they had improved their service from years ago....when it rains or snows there is always they said!     Directv%u2019s salespeople are not telling potential customers the real cost of their monthly programming package. When you do find out, it is too late, and you are stuck in a two year contract that you cannot get out of without a heavy penalty and possibly cannot afford.   • Unauthorized credit checks even though i was never a customer

    I live in a high rise building, DirectTV and I agreed to not do credit checks which lower your credit score, until they can proof they can place a satellite dish in my high rise apartment, they sent a technician out, he couldnt put dish in, but Direct TV did a unauthorized credit check any way, dropping my credit score for nothing, I DIDNT EVEN GIVE THEM MY SOCIAL SEC # !!!     Due to financial reasons I had to cancel my account with DirecTV. I was told I had a refund coming and was issued a check for the $9.27 left on my balance.     At one time I decided to use Directv's autopay feature. I provided my bank account information and had no issues.     We decided to switch from Cox Cable to Directv because of the money we could save. Which is a big difference in expense but I guess that just goes to show you get what you pay for.     We have had Direct Tv for a very long time. 10+ years. We recently moved and was mislead that we were getting the DVR that records up to 5 shows at a time. Negative. We got a newer system but the same services. Now when there are 2 shows recording, I have noticed that atleast 1 records over by 1 min. Exp. 10-11:01 and this prevents the next show from recording.     I just cancelled Direct TV and it was the best decision ever. Of the two years of service we had through them, I think there were only about 3 months where the bill was correct and I didn't have to call and complain. When I did call I was always given a "I don't know why someone would have told you that but it's not possible" line. SO FRUSTRATED with them.   • Bad Instal Can Make a Big Difference/Directv Does not Really Care

    Be careful who installs your Directv. I had a very faulty installation about 10 years ago. The installer put the dish too close to an emergency exit window, blocking the security grate from opening. While he was in the middle of the instal it was pointed out to him. Instead of moving the dish over a few inches, he oriented the dish off access and therefore gave me less than optimal reception because he was too lazy to move the dish.     I have been a Directv customer for 10 years. I have also subscribed to the NFL Sunday Ticket since it first came out. I paid $50 more a month for six months out of the year.     I ordered service in November of 2009. At that time, we we were paying around $78 each month. Since then, our rates have increase to $89, which is too high.     We signed up for Direct TV thru Sams Club. A guy came out in an unmarked personal truck. He was a contract worker. Not directly employed by Direct TV.     DISAPPOINTED December 26, 2011 I made the decision to switch my internet and tv services. My initial interaction with both companies was satisfying. Good and prompt service.     I signed up for direct tv about a month ago. my account number is 83081469. I am now under the impression that my bill will go up after a year and I am stuck with direct tv for another year.
