  • Billed for something I cancelled months ago

    We got this promotional service for Direct TV in August where you can cancel service free of charge within 30 days. We ended up selling our house in September and decided we did not like Direct within that 30 days and called to cancel. We gave our new address to send boxes to ship equipment back (that were never received). Fast forward to December.....over $900 was taken from our bank account not notice nothing from Direct TV. They stated it was from the months of August to December for service. When I called to talk about this they told me I would be refunded within 7-10 business days.... More...

    After years of cable I was talked into going with directv what a HUGE mistake. When calling their customer service ( if you can call it that ) and being told they would not have a tech in the area for 4 days I asked to speak to a supervisor. After being put on hold for 10 min. she came on and all she could say was " I understand but thats the best we can do " apparently she didn't understand.     I ordered a package with a special price for 12 months. After 2 months and 6 days I called to find out why they were charging the regular price, I was told I needed to fill a rebate. I went in the internet to fill out rebate and it says it expired within 60 days. I was never told I had to fill out a rebate or that it had an expiration date. Now I am stock paying the entire bill because the cancellation fee is $420.00. Be very carefull with this company. as soon as I am done with the contract I will go back to Cable. More...

    I have been a customer of DirectTV for several years. We are relatively happy with their service except for the lack of satellite signal that occurs during a heavy rain or snow and my reoccurring billing issue. This posting is to warn any other DirectTV customers about something that keeps happening to us. We ordered HD TV about 2 years ago for the football season.   • We purchased directtv in Jan 07....

    We purchased directtv in Jan 07. Every day it was windy or snowy, all channels would not come in well. The service came out and moved the satellite dish which showed a slight improvement. However, every time it rained, got windy, got cloudy and sometimes for no reason, we'd lose our local channels for days at a time. I called service, reset all our receivers with no improvement.
