Direct TV Verizon - Verizon bundle


I ordered a "bundle" of services from Verizon....home phone, DSL and Direct TV. I took copious notes and questioned the phone rep as to the total monthly charges. I was quoted $138 for all three services plus taxes. I have been billed $188. A monthly service charge of $29.88 for equipment charges per receiver not disclosed to me at the time of the sale has been given as the reason. Both Verizon and Direct TV have been contacted twice and refused to remove the charges. I plan to cancel the contract.

February of last year (2010) we were contacted by Verizon by phone soliciting a new service whereby they would bill for our phone line and Direct TV service so as to be convenient as well as cost saving.Stating the agreement would be for two years the rep from Verizon failed to make clear the cost savings only would last for the first year of the contract and then increase significantly. We just now got our new billing statement and yes it is a significant up charge. Contacting Verizon we were told "not us, call Direct TV" Direct TV said " Not us, you need to call Verizon. Ultimately we are informed there is no written contract nor is there a record of our accepting the offer but there sure are stiff penalties for discontinuing this scammed service. Beware all who fall for this trick as it appears Direct TV could not care less if you report them or for that matter discontinue service with them.
