To Whom it May Concern>
I have directv and for more than a decade, but this doesn't seem to be of any value. I called to request replacement of the box receiver, which was slow, very slow, sure I was send a new one. I started the installation, and at a step in which the system does a test to review satellites position to channels in view, errors showed up. I repeatedly try calling one day, two days, spending long times on the phone, I even talked to a manager Mr. Gerardo who told me I had to pay 90 dollars to get a technician to help me. The issue here is that the receiver that was replaced, was outdated, so is the antenna. The antenna might not competent with the new receiver, or the new receiver might be defective, or the antenna might need to be redirected to an angle that will satisfy the new receiver.
I refuse to pay extra to install a service which I am paying for, which doesn't work because is outdated, or the instructions cannot be followed or corrected by an engineer always willing to cooperate. Why would they not also put a new antenna or at least take into account my loyalty for more than a decade. Do these systems work forever? Don't they need to be replaced?
Since July 03, 2017 I am not able to watch local channels as ABC, NBC and many more due to this error from the new receiver. I tried requesting cancelation of my service and was told I have a contract which will expire on Dec 2017, if I was to cancel, a fee of more than 200 dollars applies. I am going to write the BBB and whoever I possibly can, because I feel abused, paying for something I am not getting and asked to pay for a service of an equipment which is not competent with old equipment or might be defective. It is bad service all around. I will cancel Directv the minute I can. I am very disappointed, Directv doesn't seem to care.
