Lack of customer service


Directv is a rip-off. No one knows what they are talking about...everytime I contacted Directv with ANY issue, I was always given different information from any customer care person I spoke to. They do NOT keep good records.
I moved and did not want to keep directv...ok, yes, i will pay the penalty, unfortunately. But i was told i had to send the equipment back. Of course...but they told me they would send me a prepaid box in 3-4 days, 7-10 days...everyone said something different. I couldn't wait for these boxes to come as I had a mover scheduled during that time frame. They said if i don't receive the boxes, to move the equipment with me. I couldn't do this, as i had no tiime frame as to when the mover would get to my new home. Then i was told if they don't receive the equipment by 21 days, i would have to pay an equipment fee. Really? To avoid the fee, i sent the equipment back on my own as it was not 1 day prior to moving and i didn't receive those promised boxes. The boxes were received on 8/7...it is now 8/19. I, of course, follow up with directv to see if they received the equipment. I was told its not scanned into the system yet...how long does that take? I told them that i have receipts that they were received as i followed the instructions given to me by some customer service rep. seems like they want to tell me that i will have to pay a non-return equipment fee. why would a customer have to call directv continually and not get anything resolved? by the way, the box did come, the day of my move....
