My husband and I are having DirecTV installed as I'm typing this review. I am already so unhappy with this company, but my experience with Uverse has been so awful that we're going to give it a try.

I signed up for DirecTV a couple weeks ago. Within days of me signing up they mailed us a $150 gift card incentive to switch to DirecTV. When my husband called to speak to them about taking advantage of this offer, they told him he couldn't do anything because his name wasn't on the account. I called that evening and had his name put on the account. He then dealt with them and they said we'd have to completely cancel our order and re-submit to take advantage of the $150 incentive. The customer service agent then told him that he couldn't cancel because his name wasn't the PRIMARY on the account. What is the point of putting someone on the account if they cannot make changes to it and you have to waste your time calling them to deal with it yourself? This is stupid.

They showed up to install today, and informed us that we would have to pay a $99 fee for wireless receivers, because our guest room didn't have a cable hook up and our living room one was across the room from where our TV is. In the old days, you would run a wire around the edge of a room and/or run a wire through the attic to the room that didn't have a hook up. Why isn't this standard practice anymore?

The whole situation is ridiculous. They are out to get your money, no matter what they say.
