direct tv customer service sucks


i have been a customer of directtv for a year and a half now, i recently lost my job and needed a little assistnce to lower my bill. direct tv customer service told me there was nothing they could do. by the end of the conversation i was so upset with direct tv that i cancelled my service and now owe them a cancellation fee. im going back to my local cabe company as they have worked with me in the past, thats more than direct tv would do, and they do not have a contract and therir prices are same as direct tv.

I have been frustrated on my overall DirecTV experience. And whished I had not switched over. I would keep it short.
1. Installer left boxes in my compound, and when I called him back to come clear the mess; his response was "we usually leave the boxes in a common area". "REALLY.!
2. Attention to detail poor. I went on line to check how the equipment was set up in their various location. I have 3 TV's located in the living area, the game room, and the master bedroom. What Installer entered were all bedrooms.

3. I was told I have all these free channels for 3 months after which I start being charged. HBO, etc.. I have bee trying to communicate with DSTV's representative to make the change at the client's request. (My request).

Their response was, I would have to call in 3 months when the free promo is over to cancel, and if I don't I would be charged for it. Really...

The list goes on... But I would leave it at that. I am still trying to decide if I want to have DSTV as my cable service or cancel.
